Dr Mona King is the medical director at North County Animal Hospital. Her college education began at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science then went on to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Western University of Health Sciences.

Dr King believes strongly in empathy for both animals and the people who love them. To her this is not just a job of helping animals but in nurturing the human-animal bond she has found enriches the owner’s mental and physical well being.

At North County Animal Hospital, she lives by her mission statement “have patience with patients” to minimize stress and fear for the animals. As a doctor, she is passionate about surgery, dermatology, and pain management.

Outside of work, she loves being with her family, playing pickleball, and spending time at the horse barn. Her own pets include 2 wonderful dogs, 2 sassy cats, and a beautiful horse who she loves dearly.
